As principal of West Tallahatchie High School, it is my goal to facilitate a more inclusive scope of education that moves beyond the separate and mutually exclusive roles that have historically separated teacher and parents, school and home, academia and community. Here at West Tallahatchie High School, we are actively creating partnerships that connect the academic and technological resources of our school with the expert and experiential resources of our parents and the rich history and culture of our community. At West Tallahatchie High School, we understand that the challenges students encounter at school, home, and in our community are one in the same. For us, this means that we -staff, students, parents, and community members- must work together to increase our students' access to resources in school, home, and in the community.
This year at WTHS we are embarking on a Choctaw journey that bridges the gap between school and community. This year is only the beginning of the journey as, our Choctaw expedition is a lifelong process of Choosing Higher Opportunities, Choose to Advance the World!
We encourage you to:
partner with us to give our students the resources they need to expand their mind, capacity, and zest for learning
partner with us to give our students the opportunities to grow into productive and social responsible leaders
partner with us to give our students the experience of seeing, speaking to, having meetings with, and working hand in hand with our community
As we embark on this Choctaw journey, we encourage you to join our children on their lifelong journey of Choosing Higher Opportunities, Choose to Advance the World!
